Toyota South Africa has modified its line-up of its Etios model with the addition of the new Sprint derivative.
Previously displayed at last year’s Festival of Motoring in Gauteng, the Sprint replaces the ‘Xs’ derivative as the mid-spec option, and features an all-new front bumper and grille design. This allows for all three derivatives of the Etios hatchback and sedan, which includes the Xi, Sprint and Cross, to have all unique appearances.
With the hatch body priced at R172 600 and sedan at R180 500, the Sprint maintains the standard 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 66 kW and 132 Nm of torque, as well as the 5-speed manual transmission which sends the power to the front wheels. Fuel consumption is reported to be 5.9L/100km for the hatch, and 6.0L/100km for the sedan.
Standard features include fog lamps, 15” alloys, remote central locking, Bluetooth, and electric windows. Safety features include driver and passenger airbags, ABS, and EBD.
All Etios models come standard with a two-year/30 000km service plan, and a three-year/100 000km warranty.
