As of next year, automobile lovers in the Mother City will no longer have to travel to Johannesburg to top up on the latest arrivals and additions in the world of motoring.
Officially launched last week in attendance by officials from the SA Guild of Motoring Journalists and the City of Cape Town, the Cape Town Motor Show is set to run during 27 to 29 January 2017 at the Sun Grandwest Hotel and Casino.
“Events like these show we have a massive community of petrol heads and motor enthusiasts right here in our city,” says MEC for tourism Garreth Bloor. “The potential to create international events for motor enthusiasts from around the world shouldn’t be underestimated, given Cape Town’s growing status as Africa’s events capital.”
The weekend-long event will include local and international introductions, passenger cars, bikes, trucks, sport utility vehicles, and experimental or concept cars. Visitors will also get to see antique collector cars, drifting, vitual simulations, live music and more.
